Enjoy a very relaxing train journey North to Oxenholme in the spectacular Lake District National Park in a little over 3 hours. On arrival there you will be met by a local guide to enjoy a tour of the beautiful Lake District.
Drive through the breath taking Yewdale Valley, passing Yew Tree Tarn and Skelwith Bridge to Coniston Water, to enjoy a cruise on the lake gliding through the waters (for which the area is very famous) against the dramatic backdrop of the District's mountains.
Our tour of the Lake District continue to the picturesque medieval village of Hawkshead, with an enchanting combination of whitewashed houses, its cobbled streets, narrow alleyways overlooked by a 16th Century Church.
We make our way to Hill Top, the inspiration for many of Beatrix Potter's characters. Her home, where she wrote several of her famous stories, remains exactly as she left it and in each room there is something that appears in one of her books. Afternoon Tea at the Lindeth Howe Country House, now a hotel. You will also experience many other Lake District picturesque beauty spots before returning to Oxenholme for the train back to London.
